As in-charge of operation wing of PDMA, the director is responsible for planning and leading the responses to natural disasters and other emergencies; to work with government agencies, nonprofits, private companies, and the general public to develop effective plans that minimize damage and disruptions during an emergency; to prepare mitigation and preparedness plans/policies keeping in view of “best practices” from around the world; to analyze the disaster and climate related risks by adopting world best Disaster Risk Reduction and Disaster risk Management techniques; to analyze the resources, equipment, and staff available to respond to emergencies; to ensure individuals and groups become familiar with the emergency procedures and plans; to conduct training courses or disaster exercises for staff, volunteers, and local agencies to ensure an effective and coordinated response to an emergency; following an emergency, to assess the damage and coordinate getting assistance and supplies into the community.
