The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Punjab has issued a weather alert for heavy rain on Youm-e-Ashura (6th July 2025). Urban flooding is expected in Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Lahore, Sialkot, Sargodha, and Faisalabad. All departments are directed to ensure timely preparations, especially along Muharram procession routes. Measures include early warnings, activation of dewatering pumps, rescue machinery, and medical/emergency setups. Vulnerable buildings should be inspected and flood response systems kept on alert
