Umar Abbas Mela assumed charge as the Director General of PDMA Punjab. A Grade-19 officer of the Pakistan Administrative Service, he has previously served as Deputy Commissioner Toba Tek Singh and held key positions in the Chief Minister's Office and the Finance Department. After taking charge, he held an introductory meeting with PDMA officers and received a detailed briefing on preparedness for the ongoing monsoon season and potential flooding. He directed officers to work in line with the Punjab Government's policies, emphasizing that public service and efficient service delivery would remain the top priorities. He stressed teamwork, discipline, and punctuality, and reaffirmed the commitment to implementing the vision of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif for improved public service. Senior PDMA officials, including the Additional Director General and Directors, attended the meeting.
