On the directions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Director General PDMA Punjab Muhammad Saif Anwar Jappa visited Narowal to review flood protection and preparedness measures. During the visit, he inspected the protective embankments along Nala Dek at Lehri and Skroor. The Executive Engineer Irrigation Flood Bund Division briefed the DG on ongoing protection and development works. DG PDMA expressed satisfaction over the quality of work and directed the concerned departments to complete all protective measures in a timely manner. He further ordered the strengthening of the Nala Dek embankment on an emergency basis. He stressed that all available resources must be utilized to protect nearby communities from potential flood risks. He directed all relevant departments to remain fully alert in view of the monsoon and possible flood situation, emphasizing that no negligence in protecting public lives and property would be tolerated.
